Nov. 13th -14th, Nor' easter and runners hit the beach.

What a great weekend on the beautiful outer banks of North Carolina. The Outer Banks Marathon had over over 8k runners this year, so I heard while eating lunch at Tortugas. The beach is packed with visitors, almost feels like summer. I wasn't the 1st or 2nd car at the stop lights,I had to go 35 in a 50 (158), and  had to be extra cautious when using the turning lane. It can be quite scary when tourist are in town.

Not only were runners visiting the obx, we had a Nor'easter visiting us as well. The storm (two systems; a nor’easter” and the remains of Ida) set in Wednesday. The winds were howling and the ocean roaring. I went to the beach yesterday (Sat.) and the ocean was finally starting to calm down, but still roaring. My neighbor ,who lives on the oceanfront  in Duck, said the waves looked HUGE on Fri.. He said it looked like the Duck research pier was being engulfed by the ocean. I may need to think about my source, he starts drinking at 8am.
See link below-video of roaring ocean in Duck.
Nor'easter OBX Marathon weekend.....

Today (Sunday), was a beautiful day, even though I had to wait in marathon traffic.  It took me  40 min. to go  1 mile. It was fun watching the runners and being around all that marathon energy. BUZZ BUZZ everywhere!

I love seeing all the activity, thank goodness our stores, hotels, rental properties, and restaurants get to have a prosperous weekend. Our Duck house rented this week and Thanksgiving week. I'm very thankful for the TOURIST! Thank you for visiting our beautiful beaches. We have something pretty special here. The first time my feet touched these  sandy beaches, I fell in love and never left.

What am I thankful for this week?
I'm thankful for people spending money in our community this weekend and for  two healthy baby girls that were born  in our community this week. Congratulations to Kristin and Danny Harbart and Amanda and Wyatt Booth.
